Farewell Fall, Welcome Winter...

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire:  it is the time for home.  ~Edith Sitwell

So today was the last day of Autumn here in Australia, meaning when I wake up in the morning Winter will be here... The transition from Autumn to Winter has been pretty sudden, a few days ago it was fairly warm, today it was like it arrived early, I woke up to a cold & over cast day, so cold in fact we have had the fire going during the day & I wore 2 hoodies & a scarf! And I am not complaining! I much prefer to be cold then hot! So bring on this chilly season, bring on the Winter clothes & accessories, warm comfort food, toasty fires, big blankets and cold sunny days. I love it all...
Here are a few snaps I took during Autumn...
Autumn is the most beautiful time of year here in Toowoomba, I love how all the trees change colour.
My front yard becomes littered with beautifully coloured leaves, I love Autumn..
And now the trees are almost bare...
A few days ago it wasn't too cold, it was sunny but cool enough to wear jeans, boots & just a shirt...
And today it was cold! Winter pretty much started today!

So in celebration of the new season I thought I would share some of my favourite Pinterest images that make me think Winter...

Pictures of cats in the snow make me want to pack up Mishka & Spook and head somewhere snowy...
Doesn't he look adorable! He is just like a teddy bear!!  Daisy & Duke are in their coats at night time & today was so chilly they stayed in them all day!

Ok I know we don't actually get snow In Queensland (damn!) & I have never actually seen snow, but I love snow photos & these photos just scream my dream Winter... Seriously, each Summer here I contemplate running away to chase Winter around the world.

I have a ton more images on Pinterest, check out my WINTER or SNOW board to see more Wintery beauty...
I hope this post got you in the mood for the wonderful chilly season ahead!
Let me know what your favourite thing is about Winter in the comments below, I know some people really dislike the cold, but I love it...
And if you live in an area where it snows, I am extremely jealous!
Stay warm & love you all.

Her hair is so big, because it is full of personalities...

“I want freedom for the full expression of my personality.”  - Gandhi
Hey everyone!
How was your day?
Well my day was fairly boring, Trent was off really early in the morning on a fishing trip with his work mate & I had a list of 'house wife' tasks to complete... So yeah, I was in for an exciting day... (*sarcasm)
After I had 'complete' my mundane tasks, I was a bit bored... So I thought I would try out a new hairstyle & then I played around with some make up, I was impressed with the result, I was going to film a video... Like I really wanted to film, but I had no idea what to film, so that idea went out the window... So I just played around on my iPhone with an app called 'Incredibooth' (if you don't have it, get it! It's awesome!) Anyway looking back on these photos I am actually really pleased with them, it makes me wish they were better quality photos... But looking at them made me realise something... There are so many mini personalities that make up who I am. I just like how these photos really display them, so I thought I would share a few with ya'll...
Hair and makeup...
The bigger the hair, the closer to God! Boy, was I close to God today! ;)
So many personalities crammed into one very small person!
Add some colour to your life, tap into your inner true self, be silly, be crazy and laugh!
Be shy, distant, laugh, growl, pull faces, dream, be still, cherish the moments that take your breath away, search for more, be happy, fall in love, smile the smile that special person makes smile and be you.
Laugh, be carefree and don't give a damn about what anyone else thinks...
I really like these last 3, I especially the last strip. It's probably my most favourite...

I am in absolute love with this app, I've had it for a while and I often use it, but today the photos just turned out awesomely, so I had to share them.
So what do you think? Do you have a favourite strip? Let me know!
I really liked my hair like this, it was done with a curling wand & to be honest it didn't hold very long... Just reinforcing my lack of faith and complete dislike for heat tools!
I hope ya'll had a fantastic day and continue to have a great week!
Love you all.
XoXo.

DVD collection & favourites {MAY 2012}

There are millions of people in this world, but in the end it all comes down to one. I still panic sometimes, forget to breathe, but I know that there's something beautiful in my imperfections; the beauty that he held up for me to see. The strength that I will never be able to say. - Nicole, Crazy Beautiful.
Hi!
Ok this blog was a requested one, so here it goes... :)
My DVDs; I have about 160 movie titles, I tried to count today & I lost track around the 150 mark & then I realised I forgot a few... And to be honest I can't be bothered to recount them, so lets just say I own roughly about 160 movie DVDs. I started buying them when I was about 17 I owned a few, then as I lived on my own the collection just grew and now it's a bit out of control and I know my collection is nowhere near as big as some peoples but I love mine and I'm darn proud of it... And I think sometimes a small collection with good movies is better than a huge collection full of crap & I think all my movies are great (with a few exceptions...)
I organise mine alphabetically with my favourite movies displayed in my DVD holders & then rest are put into sub-catergories and stored alphabetically in my TV cabinet. It all sounds a bit obsessive but to me honest the only ones I make sure stay in correct order are the ones on display in the DVD holder stand/thing...
I figured the easiest way to explain my collection & favourites was through v-log, well that kind of back fired because it's a 40 minute video... I am so sorry! But I try to do it all as quickly as possible & I don't really focus on one movie, they all get a mention! So if you watch it to end, just know I bloody love you & you are awesome!! :)
So here's the video;

Pretty random movie collection hey? I love how different it is & that I have lots of titles from all different genres!
I mention in the video that my collection is nowhere near complete, there are still so many titles I wish to own. This is just a quick list;
  • The Vow
  • The Baby-sitters club movie. (Apparently this DVD is non-existant in Australia, if you see one please tell me. I loved this movie as a kid... Yeah, I was a nerd).
  • Halloween 2
  • The Crucible
  • Megamind
  • The Lion King 1,2 & 3
  • Paranormal activity 1 & 3
  • Toy Story 1,2 & 3
  • Sweet Home Alabama
  • Babe
  • Beaches
  • Training Day
  • The Rescuers Down Under
  • And I'm sure 1000 more movies... I am a really spontaneous movie buyer at times... It's dangerous!
What movies do you suggest for my collection? I am always open to watch new movies... So let me know if you have any favourites I haven't mentioned!

In the video I also mention that I would list my top 10 favourite movies (in no particular order as I can't decide which one I love the best...)
  1. Almost Famous
  2. Country Strong
  3. Crazy Beautiful
  4. Girl Interrupted
  5. The Help
  6. The Grinch
  7. Hangover 1
  8. Marie Antoinette
  9. The Blind Side
  10.  The final place remains open because my list is ever changing & I'm always adding new favourites...
So they are my movies, what do you think? I do have more that belong to my parents that Mum has bought but I 'claim to own' (haha).
A few titles that spring to mind that 'live at the parentals' are; Legally Blonde 1 & 2, The Devil Wears Prada, Dirty Dancing, 10 Things I Hate About You (love that movie!)  & there are ton more I just can't think of them, but what I am trying to say is I do have access to even more movies...
I was going to post a bunch of my favourite movie quotes but seriously, this blog is long enough! So maybe in another post! But I do have a lot of quotes that I love from movies...

Please let me know what your top movie picks are & please suggest any movies you think I will enjoy, because as you can tell I love owning great movies!
I hope my collection has kind of inspired you to check out a new film!
Oh and if you were surprised by a certain movie in my collection, let me know which one it was... I often have people say to me, "I can't believe you own or know what .... is" I think it's funny!
Anyway...
I hope ya'll enjoyed this post & thanks so much for reading & thanks to Ileana for requesting such a fun video/post for me to do! :) If any of you have any requests please let me know!
Love you all.

Sunset chasing trophies... {MAY 2012}

I've seriously been sitting here staring at a blank screen & wasting time on YouTube (listening to music) for like the past hour, I just have no clue what to write. So I figured maybe if I start just typing whatever I will think up something... So I know the subject I want to 'blog' about, well it's more just a few photos I want to show ya'll... These are some sunset photos, I took one lot last week & some today... I really like them & I am kind of proud with how they turned out!
I wanted to write something inspiring & heartfelt about sunsets, but I can't think of a single darn thing!
***
That is how this blog started, after editing the photos I still am stuck on something 'emotional' or inspiring to say...
But I do have this to say, I seriously enjoy nothing more than chasing sunsets. I am a sunset chaser, to me it is so much fun. The thrill and excitement of looking outside seeing and the sky painted orange & pink. I often just grab my camera, keys, water bottle & jumping in the car, turning my country music up loud & heading to 'my spots' or even just going out into the back yard & climbing onto the carport roof all whilst trying to balance my camera & iPhone... Even the afternoons when I am either leaving my parents or heading to see them & on the trip I catch an awesome sunset show, I seriously am that crazy person that swerves off the road to just get a photo of a cool sky. I love it! Nothing beats snapping away at something so beautiful & then going back through your photos & being so impressed with what you have captured, it is such a great 'reward', 'capturing the sunset'...
Just this afternoon the sky was full of smoke (due to back burning down at Gatton which is 1/2 an hour away, I guess a smoke filled sky is better than dealing with bush fires!) Anyway, with the sky being smoke filled it already looked cool & pretty and Trent & I were headed to my parents house for dinner. I grabbed my camera as we walked out the door 'just in case' because I had a sneaky feeling that the smoke could create some great haze & clouds in sunset photos... Sure enough just as we are about to drive past this awesome barbwire fenced paddock Trent pulls over & I'm so glad he did, the sky was burning orange. I was out of the car before it even stopped and was on my knees in some weird photographer 'got to get a shot at this angle' position, that sunset seriously lasted less than a minute before it dipped below the hills but the sky still burnt bright... So we headed further up Mount Kynoch & pulled in at another 'look out' style area so I could capture a few more shots of such a pretty afternoon. So I am glad my love for a good sunset has rubbed off on my husband! The photos from this afternoon turned out ok, I was playing around with some settings which is why a few look a bit dark but I really like the silhouette look they have...
I know these 2 are pretty much identical but I couldn't decide which one I loved the most so I put them both on here... I seriously am loving these & I'm very happy with how they turned out!!
Photos from stop #1.
I'm actually really happy with this one, I love the colours in this photo.
I kind of like these 2 as well, the smoke in the air really created a 'misty' & magically pretty look to the whole photo.

The following photos were captured from my backyard whilst I was balancing on the side of my carport... I kind of climbed up and was leaning on the roof with my camera & trying not to fall and break my neck, all because I need to be up higher to get a decent shot... And well, I personally think putting myself in danger was well worth it because this photos turned out bloody terrific! The sky started off dull on this particular afternoon & the colour changing lasted quiet awhile, it went from soft pink to deep orange, it was fantastic! And seriously this totally proves you can't predict sunsets, sometimes they seem like they will be average & boring & then BAM you have an awesome light show... (These were taken maybe a week or 2 ago)...
Cotton candy skies make me smile!
Yeah I am pretty proud of how these turned out, I think they look so good!

So they are some of my latest sunset chasing trophies, what do you think? I love them, the last set I think are a little better but I had the time to kill where as with the first ones (taken today) I was a bit more rushed, but either way I am very pleased with how they all turned out... I would love any feedback as well as any tips & tricks for improving my skills... And by the looks of it I did finally think up something to write about sunsets! :)
Hope you enjoyed this post...
Love you all.
